Lal Bagh Palace is the Holkar rulers' palace in Indore, now a museum. The Madhya Pradesh government acquired it in 1987. It was built across three Holkar reigns, from the late 1800s into the 1920s, to a design by Bernard Triggs, in Renaissance, Palladian and Baroque architecture, with neo-classical furniture inside.

Look out for entrance gates modelled on those of Buckingham Palace in London, at about twice the size; Belgian stained-glass windows; and a ballroom floor laid on springs.
